Eid ul Adha 2026 is coming soon, and people in Pakistan are already getting ready for it. Families start planning travel, shopping, and Qurbani. Markets also become busy before Eid.

Eid ul Adha 2026 Date in Pakistan  

In Pakistan,  Eid ul Adha is expected on Wednesday, 27 May 2026. This date depends on the moon sighting, but now it is confirmed. One day before Eid is the Day of Arafah, expected on 26 May 2026. Hajj also happens around this time in Saudi Arabia.  

Eid Holidays in Pakistan 2026  

The Government of Pakistan has announced three holidays:  

• 26 May 2026 (Tuesday) – Holiday  
• 27 May 2026 (Wednesday) – Eid ul Adha  
• 28 May 2026 (Thursday) – Holiday  

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced these holidays so people can celebrate Eid with their families. During these days, schools, offices, and banks will remain closed. The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will also be closed.  

What People Do on Eid ul Adha  

On Eid ul Adha, people:  

• Go to the Eid prayer  
• Do Qurbani (sacrifice)  
• Share meat with family and poor people  
• Visit parents and relatives  
• Spend time together  

This is why it is also called  Bakra Eid or Eid Qurban.  

Why Eid ul Adha is Important  

Eid ul Adha is about the story of Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S). He showed strong faith and obedience to Allah.  

Quran Verse (Surah Al-Hajj 22:37)  

Arabic:  
لَن يَّنَالَ اللّٰهَ لُحُوْمُهَا وَلَا دِمَاؤُهَا وَلٰكِنْ يَّنَالُهُ التَّقْوٰى مِنْكُمْ  

Translation in English:  

Allah does not get the meat or blood, but He accepts your piety.  

Translation in Urdu:  

اللہ تک نہ ان کا گوشت پہنچتا ہے اور نہ ان کا خون، بلکہ تمہارا تقویٰ پہنچتا ہے۔  

Hadith  

Translation in Arabic:  

 مَا عَمِلَ آدَمِيٌّ مِنْ عَمَلٍ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ أَحَبَّ إِلَى اللَّهِ مِنْ إِهْرَاقِ الدَّمِ  

Translation in English:  

No action is more loved by Allah on the day of Eid than Qurbani.  

Translation in Urdu:  
قربانی کے دن اللہ کو سب سے زیادہ پسند عمل قربانی ہے۔
