A Step Toward Modern Farming and Farmer Empowerment

Officially announcing Phase II of the Punjab Green Tractor Scheme 2025, an endeavour aiming at revolutionising the province's agriculture, is the Government of Punjab. Starting on July 1, 2025, at 8:00 AM, the registration process will provide thousands of farmers with the chance to have easily available subsidised tractors on reasonable terms.

Part of the government's larger initiatives to boost agricultural development, increase crop output, and assist small to medium-scale farmers using contemporary machinery is this program.

Background of the Scheme

Originally designed to enable farmers to overcome the difficulty of costly  agricultural machinery , the Punjab Green Tractor Scheme was implemented through a clear selection process and subsidised rate offer of tractors; the government guaranteed that worthy farmers would have access to the required agricultural equipment.

Phase I of the program turned out to be rather successful. After receiving tractors, almost 9,500 farmers showed clear increases in crop productivity and farming efficiency. A computerised lottery system was used to make the choices guarantee openness and fairness.

Inspired by this achievement, the Punjab government has now started Phase II, meant to provide tractors to another 20,000 farmers all throughout the province.

Objectives of the Scheme

The main goals of the Punjab Green Tractor Scheme are:

  • To improve agricultural productivity by using modern machinery.
  • To reduce the burden of high tractor costs on farmers.
  • To support small and medium-sized landowners.
  • To ensure fair distribution through a transparent process.
